About

Unfiltered Latitude was born from a rekindled love for words. After years away from writing, a simple invitation to a gathering reminded me of the joy in storytelling, in capturing a moment and making it memorable. That small spark was all I needed to begin exploring again, this time through culture, food, wine, and travel—essences of life that remind me of what it means to feel truly connected and human.

Here, I write not as a critic or an expert, but as someone returning to the things that bring joy: imagining new worlds, connecting tastes to stories, and reflecting on the past to understand the present. Food, especially, holds a deep connection to my roots—my mother could create meals with very little, a gift that taught me the value of presence and resourcefulness. For me, food, wine, and culture are more than passions; they’re expressions of care, history, and humanity.

This space isn’t about chasing uniqueness but rather about embracing authenticity. Unfiltered Latitude is a play on both the rawness of unfiltered wine—my drink of choice—and the openness to explore, question, and push boundaries. It’s a perspective shaped by place, but with the freedom to roam, observe, and create.

I hope Unfiltered Latitude becomes a space that feels both familiar and new, challenging yet welcoming—a place for readers who want to explore and discuss, who embrace curiosity and conversation. Whether you’re here for the food, the stories, or simply a place to pause, I invite you to come as you are.

And a quick note: as an introvert navigating a public-facing world, I may not always be the loudest voice, but I’ve learned to value the power of quiet reflection just as much as the energy of connection. In this blend of introversion and exploration, I hope you’ll find something that resonates.
